Dr. Pius Kim

Dr. Kim graduated from the University of Toronto, Faculty of Dentistry in 1985. After his graduation, he served as a military dentist, as Captain with the Canadian Armed Forces Dental Services. He was stationed at CFB Greenwood, Nova Scotia and CFB Kingston, Ontario from 1985 to 1989. Some of the highlights in his military career were, spending 2 months aboard HMCS Protecteur on Atlantic Ocean during military excercises with other NATO ships, receiving his ‘Wing” for Basic Parachute course at CFB Edmonton, and completion of the West Coast Trail-National Park on Vancouver Island. Clinically, he completed the Oral Surgery Course in Canadian Armed Forces Dental Service at CFB Halifax.


After the military, he practiced general dentistry for an additional five years in the Greater Toronto area. During this time, he worked as a part-time Public Health Dentist with the City of Toronto and as a part-time preclinical instructor for the second year dental students at the University of Toronto.


In 1994, he was accepted into the Graduate Orthodontic Program at the University of Western Ontario, London Ontario and earned a Master’s degree in Clinical Dentistry, M.Cl.D., (Orthodontics). His research thesis was on Quantitative Analysis of Skeletal II relationship.


Recently, he received the Fellowship in Orthodontic of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada (F.R.C.D.(C))for achievement of high standards in Orthodontics.


Since 1998, he is Associate in Dentistry at Faculty of Dentistry, University of Toronto, teaching the fourth year dental students in clinical Orthodontics.


Dr. Kim is a member of various professional organizations, including American Association of Orthodontists, Ontario Dental Association, Toronto Orthodontic Study Club, Alumni Associations at both University of Toronto, and University of Western Ontario and York Regional Dental Society.

Dr. Raffi Aynaciyan
Dr. Raffi Aynaciyan was born and raised in Toronto. As a specialist in the field of orthodontics, he has completed an advanced program of education and training. Dr Aynaciyan attended the University of Toronto for undergraduate studies including dental school receiving his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree (D.D.S.) in 1991. After four years of general dental practice, he enrolled in the three-year graduate orthodontic program at University of Western Ontario, receiving a Masters degree (M.Cl.D.) in 1998. More recently, he was awarded Fellowship (F.R.C.D.(C)) in the Royal College of Dentists of Canada for upholding high standards in the specialty of orthodontics. While maintaining a practice limited to orthodontics for both children and adults, Dr. Aynaciyan has held teaching positions at both the University of Toronto and the University of Western Ontario, disseminating orthodontic knowledge at the undergraduate and graduate levels, respectively. As well, he has lectured to local community groups and regularly attends continuing education seminars to keep abreast with the latest developments in orthodontics.

Dr. Aynaciyan has been a member of various professional organizations including the Ontario Association of Orthodontics, the American Association of Orthodontics, the Ontario Dental Association, the Toronto Orthodontic Club and the Friends Study Club.


As part of a dental organization that aids individuals in need, Dr. Aynaciyan has helped establish and maintain dental clinics in underserviced and impoverished regions in third world countries. Locally, he has contributed as board member for a private elementary school.


In his spare time, he loves to travel, play tennis, work out, go fishing and bicycling as well as spend time with friends.
